Work that works - that's why we're in our 29th year

Creative Marketing Services began as the management buyout of the Yorkshire office of a national agency group way back in 1982. More than a quarter of century later, the agency is still thriving under the same independent ownership. This is quite some longevity in advertising and marketing terms and is only possible if an agency attracts and retains a loyal following of long standing clients. Clients are only long standing if an agency constantly provides them with work that works, and over the decades CMS has been shown to deliver on time on budget and on results.

We're the only full service IPA status agency in Leeds

We achieved full ITV recognition status in 1984 and recognition with the other three key media bodies (Newspaper Publishers’ Association, Newspaper Society and Periodical Publishers’ Association) quickly followed. We bought our own building in 1992, achieved IPA membership in 1993, opened a London presence in 1997 and relocated our head office to Leeds in 2005.

Effectiveness is in the culture of the business and we enter the IPA Effectiveness Awards as a result. For us, it’s not good enough that advertising and marketing simply increases awareness, we want tangible results of a return on investment. When we first began, ads sent to the Daily Telegraph had to be supplied as metal blocks. It was pre-fax days let alone pre-internet. Over the years, the internet, e-marketing, digital, social networking and QR code codes have added to the tools at the marketer's disposal.
