Media Buyer - Junior or part time
We're looking for an additional media buyer to join an overworked team negotiating media rates on the full spectrum of media from press to broadcast, digital to direct marketing. Applicants will only be considered who have previous media buying experience within an agency or media. We would consider part time 10-3 applicants too. We're going to give one young person the 'way in' to the most exciting profession there is - Advertising.
You'll join one of Yorkshire's leading advertising and marketing communications agencies at their Leeds HQ and over the course of twelve months you'll be given a grounding in all the departmental teams while we see the areas where you'll best shine.
You'll work alongside creatives developing designs, media planners liaising with the media, production planners liaising with printers, account handlers liaising with clients, the financial manager doing the admin and the MD doing bits of everything.
You'll be involved with clients needs in brochures, press advertising, TV advertising, digital marketing and social networking sites. You'll be involved in researching markets for new clients and therefore we're looking for a confident outgoing personality, good telephone manner, presentable and smart image for meetings and whist abilities on Facebook, Linked In, Twitter and web design are not essential, they would certainly help.
We don't expect you to have any design abilities. This is not a studio design position. But we do expect you to be bursting with ambition, a passion for an interesting job and a desire to succeed.
We're not insisting on any specific qualifications but be warned: spelling mistakes and bad grammar can cost an agency dearly, so we shall we looking for someone with an excellent level of written and spoken English, who is confident and outgoing.
CMS is based in superb rural offices close to junction 46 of the M1 so consider whether you can realistically get to us each day. If you can (and we're near bus routes 9 and 19) then you''ll love the location, in an acre and a bit of landscaped gardens with a duckpond and wandering peacocks.
You'll also like the team here. We're young (mainly) and even the MD who isn't young is passionate about helping young people succeed. You might be reassured that this is an agency which has trained up many young people and two school leavers went on to have directorships here. so we're definitely not looking for cheap labour: if you want to build a successful career in advertising and marketing, this really is the chance to succeed.
Now it's over to you. You don't need design skills, you don't need fantastic qualifications, but you do need that fire in your belly to succeed. Come armed with that and we'll provide the rest.

Do take care over your CV. Three out of ten of the ones we receive contain spelling errors. Another four out of ten have clearly been written as a wide ranging circular. Two out of ten are matter of fact robotic information. But we don’t want a robot. We want a creative person. So make your personality shine through. Make us like you and we’ll see you even if we have no vacancy at the moment. So tell us what makes you a really interesting, ambitious and enthusiastic person who would fit in well with our team.

We're looking for a Midweight Designer, someone hot on ideas and good on typography. Someone fast and proficient but meticulous in checking their work and producing on brief, on time, with accuracy. Someone who can turn out great creative work as well as the bread and butter fast urgent artwork projects going through daily.
You need to have at least 2 years experience in a busy comparable studio, you need to be experienced on Macs with all the usual software. We'd like to see some web design experience but not neccessarily web build. This position is based at our Leeds HQ in the superb setting of Hollinthorpe Hall on the edge of the city near M1 junction 46 at Colton. This semi-rural location complete with duckpond and peacocks is nevertheless just around the corner from the motorway junction and civilisation!
